However, the fifteen-member jury of the competition for the new East Swimming Hall and Medical Care Centre (MVZ) at Otto-Runki-Platz in Leipzig made a different selection. Nevertheless, we are pleased about the recognition (purchase) of our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.luechingermeyer.ch\/en\/project\/neubau-schwimmhalle-ost-und-mvz-am-otto-runki-platz-in-leipzig\/\">project proposal<\/a>, which was developed together with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mlzd.ch\/\">:mlzd<\/a>.<br \/>\nThe chosen triangular shape of the building&#8217;s floor plan and the folded roof construction are the most remarkable characteristics of the design. &#8220;The urbanistic large figure is structured by a folded roof structure, which gives it an appropriate scale and interior atmosphere,&#8221; the jury commented. The roof covers the entire usable area of the new indoor pool and the MVZ. It was designed as a spatial, steel supporting structure which runs parallel to the hypotenuse of the triangle and acts as a folding structure. The triangular folded trusses are supported by a regular and efficient column grid.
