In November 2019, the majority of Liechtenstein&#8217;s citizens expressed their support for the construction of an acute hospital on the &#8220;Wille Areal&#8221; in order to create a modern infrastructure for hospital medical care at a high level in the country. In an exemplary manner, the referendum was quickly translated into planning by those responsible, with the result that a corresponding architectural competition could be announced less than a year later.<br \/>\nThe project &#8220;Castel&#8221; by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.samarch.ch\/news\/index\">sam architekten<\/a> was awarded 3rd prize by the jury, L\u00fcchinger+Meyer supported the design work in the field of structural engineering.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After nearly 40 years of use, the existing building of the Liechtenstein National Hospital will no longer be able to guarantee up-to-date medical operations in the future.
