{"id":17310,"date":"2021-01-07T11:09:15","date_gmt":"2021-01-07T10:09:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.luechingermeyer.ch\/rueckblick-2020-2-die-verwandlung-des-corso-in-st-gallen\/"},"modified":"2021-01-08T15:41:20","modified_gmt":"2021-01-08T14:41:20","slug":"rueckblick-2020-2-die-verwandlung-des-corso-in-st-gallen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lmp-ing.ch\/en\/rueckblick-2020-2-die-verwandlung-des-corso-in-st-gallen\/","title":{"rendered":"Review 2020.2 &#8211; The Transformation of CORSO"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>From a cinema to a &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.luechingermeyer.ch\/en\/das-schwebende-haus-in-der-bruehlgasse\/\">floating house<\/a>&#8220;, the new striking <a href=\"https:\/\/www.luechingermeyer.ch\/project\/umnutzung-bruehlgasse-37-st-gallen\/\">CORSO building<\/a> on the outskirts of St. Gallen&#8217;s old town combines art, culinary and work together under one roof &#8211; after more than 50 years of cinema operation, the building at Br\u00fchlgasse 37 has been converted into the headquarters of the company <a href=\"https:\/\/senn.com\/\">Senn<\/a>. In addition, the former gastronomic co-use has been reactivated with the opening of the new Corso restaurant. The realisation of the conversion project was a real engineering adventure for us, which we proudly look back on. With consideration for the significance of the existing building (1961) by architect Willy Schuchter, the architectural concept by <a href=\"https:\/\/rothen-architektur.ch\/\">Rothen Architektur<\/a> provided for largely preservation of its appearance. The construction measures concentrated on the ground and first upper floors, which were initially completely dismantled, and on the two basement floors.
