Immediately after their success in Widen<\/a>, the structural engineers and fa\u00e7ade engineers of L\u00fcchinger+Meyer, in collaboration with WALDRAP<\/a>, achieved another remarkable competition result: in the open project competition for the new building of the Social Insurance Court of the Canton of Zurich<\/a> (SVGer) in Winterthur, the team was awarded 3rd place. The buildings are to be integrated into the newly emerging “Justice Campus” north of the main train station. (Unfortunately we are not able to add another building block to the area in the direct vicinity of our project Social Security Court Winterthur<\/a>).
\nThe Greek goddess “Eunomia”, who personifies the legal order, served as a meaningful inspiration for the name of the project. Two structures characterize the design: the courthouse dominates the overall complex as a distinctive building in its own right, with a four-story extension alongside it. The jury<\/a> praised the project as very carefully elaborated. “The clear urban arrangement as well as the internal organization of the spaces are convincing. The proposed static structure makes valuable contributions to energy, appearance and sustainability at the same time.” We are particularly pleased with the appreciation of the building’s ” well thought-out structural design.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
