During the pandemic, decentralised work in the home office had also proven its worth for administrative staff and initiated a rethink in space and location planning. Nevertheless, with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.luechingermeyer.ch\/en\/thun-stimmt-fuer-erweiterung-der-verwaltung\/\">approval of the electorate<\/a>, the decision was made to realise the extension. The expected population growth will cause an increasing administrative burden, and the infrastructure of the municipal authorities is already reaching its limits. In addition, it is important to position the city administration as an attractive employer.
