The outpatient treatments significantly increased in recent years as part of the &#8220;outpatient before inpatient&#8221; development. This makes it urgently necessary to expand the spatial resources of the Stans hospital site &#8211; a new medical center is to complement the existing ensemble of buildings.<br \/>\nButterfly &#8211; this is the poetic name of the design by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.giulianihoenger.ch\/en\">Giuliani H\u00f6nger<\/a> Architekten, which was chosen as the winner in the competition for this new building. The jury attested that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.luechingermeyer.ch\/en\/project\/medizinisches-zentrum-nidwalden\/\">project<\/a> &#8220;creates an ideal starting point for the Medical Center and the existing hospital operations in terms of operation and overall appearance&#8221;. The fa\u00e7ade-designers from L\u00fcchinger+Meyer were able to support the team in the planning of the photovoltaic elements.<br \/>\nThe extension building appears as a striking five-story head building next to the adjacent low-rise building.
