A new building with classrooms, rooms for daily activities and a double sports hall will complement the school campus. The competition design <a href=\"https:\/\/lmp-ing.ch\/en\/project\/sekundarschulhaus-stadel-mit-doppelturnhalle\/\">&#8220;Solana&#8221;<\/a> was awarded first place. The architectural team at <a href=\"https:\/\/schmid-zioerjen.ch\/\">Schmid Zi\u00f6rjen Architektenkollektiv<\/a> proposes a three-storey, freestanding building that blends into the existing complex. &#8220;The project has been very carefully and logically designed. All aspects appear to have been precisely planned and complement each other. The building&#8217;s expression is characterised by its clear, fine structure and spatial depth, which creates a pleasant lightness and openness,&#8221; the jury explained its decision.<br \/>\nThe structure designed by L\u00dcCHINGER MEYER PARTNER is organised into three structural layers: the basement box made of in-situ concrete, the ground floor, which is free except for the surrounding column rings, and the upper floors above, which appear to float, formed as a composite structure.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Due to projected growth in student numbers in the communities of Bachs, Neerach, Stadel and Weiach, the Stadel secondary school will be expanded.
