The \u00ab<a href=\"https:\/\/lmp-ing.ch\/en\/project\/neubau-volksschule-und-sportanlagen-viererfeld-bern\/\">B\u00f6imig\u00bb<\/a>\u00a0design by the team led by the overall service provider ARGE <a href=\"https:\/\/www.erne.net\/de\/\">ERNE AG Holzbau<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/bauart.ch\/en\/\">Bauart Architekten und Planer<\/a>, which included structural engineers L\u00dcCHINGER MEYER PARTNER, came third in the final. The project \u00abimpressed the jury with its clear urban planning and architectural approach. It creates a defining link between the historic Enge school building and the new district.\u00bb<br \/>\nThe design features a ring-shaped school building with an inner courtyard, which, together with the triple-purpose sports hall and the school and district square, forms a balanced ensemble that defines the area\u2019s identity.<br \/>\nThe structural framework of the three-storey school building is designed using timber construction, stabilised by two robust main concrete cores and individual wall panels.
