Last week, we enjoyed a wonderful summer trip with a great sense of nature and our large office community. Hiking Days 2025 took us over and into the Rhine Gorge, one of the most spectacular landscapes in the Swiss Alps. Where the Rhine cut into the Flims landslide over thousands of years, 80 LÜCHINGER MEYER PARTNER employees from Zurich, Lausanne, Lucerne, and Madrid spent two days hiking and paddling in the footsteps of the elemental forces
The Thursday programme opened with a hike through the Flims mountain forest, circling the blue waters of Lake Cauma and along the Rhine Gorge. At the «Il Spir» viewing platform, we enjoyed breathtaking views down into the Ruinaulta and a picnic from our rucksacks. A stop for a swim at Lake Cresta refreshed us for the final stage of the 15-kilometre hike. Afterwards, we took up residence at the Wellnesshostel3000 in Laax. A few waterslide rides later, a very sumptuous dinner awaited us at the Hotel Adula in Flims. Many of us then enjoyed the refreshing mountain night on the forecourt of our hostel. Many thanks to the friendly barmaid at the Biblau for the extra shift!
On Friday, the field of participants was divided. While one group was guided by mira!cultura through the special building cultures of Vrin, the Wakker Prize-winning gateway to the Greina, the other employees embarked on a wild and romantic rafting tour through the «Swiss Grand Canyon». In the safe care of the wasserchRAFT boatwomen and men, we experienced rapid turbulence, sporty paddling, gentle chilling, and cheeky skirmishes with the neighbouring boats – surrounded by the impressive scenery of the Rhine Gorge.
We look back fondly on our successful excursion, which provided time for plenty of dialogue and interaction across cantonal and national borders and nurtured the special team spirit of our office.
