In June last year, the construction of the Walenbach primary school was approved by the voters of Wetzikon. In addition to the complete renovation of the existing wings A, C and D, an extension is planned so that the space requirements for 18 primary school and 2 kindergarten classes can be met in future. This important step in the growth of the school complex is due to be completed at the start of the 2027/2028 school year. This important step in the growth of the school complex is due to be completed at the start of the 2027/2028 school year. Construction work has now begun to ensure that the project is completed on time. A traditional ground-breaking ceremony marked the symbolic start. Last Friday, representatives from the town of Wetzikon and Walenbach school as well as the architects happily picked up their shovels. In the background, however, more powerful equipment was ready to start the realisation.
The structural engineers at LÜCHINGER MEYER PARTNER have been involved in the project since the successful competition with Waeber Dickenmann Steinegger Partner Architekten. In addition to various remodelling and upgrading measures in the existing buildings, we are particularly looking forward to the construction of the extension in timber-concrete hybrid construction.
