There are good reasons why our façade planners Pascal Joos and Philippe Willareth, who are generally very open-minded when it comes to materials, are focussing on glass as a building material these days. The two of them are currently in Tampere, Finland, as a small LMP delegation at the Glass Performance Days 2025, where researchers and practitioners, producers and planners are gathering from 10 to 12 June for this important networking event for the glass industry under the heading ‘Glass – The in/visible impact’.
As is so often the case, our participants will also be sharing their own experiences. On Thursday, Pascal Joos will take to stage 2 (IGU) at 9 am. His contribution ‘Lightweight Insulating Glass Unit from Design to Production’ will present the applied research on thin glass constructions carried out as part of a refurbishment project.
A little later, Philippe Willareth and Enrico Cutri (Dow) will give an insight into their joint development work on the topic of glass reuse on the ‘Circularity Stage’ (Stage 3). Their presentation ‘Circularity in Construction: Scaling Up Glass Reuse with Silicone’ will use practical examples to demonstrate the successful use of the new process.
