Swiss Structural Engineering Art 2023–2025

espazium is publishing Swiss Structural Engineering Art 2023–2025, and we are thrilled for three reasons:

1) The fifth volume in the series lives up to the high standards of its predecessors in both content and design. It offers extensive and inspiring reading on our favourite topic, while also showcasing impressive examples of the innovative, intelligent, sustainable, and aesthetic solutions that Swiss civil engineers are capable of developing. As always, project size was not the main criterion for selection, but rather the engineering ambition, which can also be demonstrated on a smaller scale.

2) One of our own projects is featured in the book under the title «A Structure for the Flower». It presents the Greenhouse Pavilion, the award-winning lightweight structure located in the new «Operaparken» in Copenhagen, accompanied by an interview with our project leads Etienne Bouleau (structure) and Philippe Willareth (façade).

3) A detailed retrospective on the Building Award complements the current edition, presenting all submissions, nominees, and winners. Alongside the façade renovation at Herostrasse 5 in Zurich (submission) and the Greenhouse Pavilion (nomination), we are excited to see a double-page feature on our outstanding young professional Pascal Joos and his pioneering work in the field of glass construction.

We wish you an inspiring summer read!
