Belimo grows
Building at express speed. Only 9 months after the ground-breaking ceremony, the shell of the new Belimo AG production building in Hinwil was completed. The topping-out ceremony was held on Tuesday. The representatives of the LMP structural engineering team, which accompanied the planning and execution alongside Burckhardt and Ghisleni Partner, were also in a celebratory mood. In their speeches, those responsible thanked all those present for their important contribution to the realisation of the building and emphasised the importance of the new production facility for the growth and innovative strength of the company at its Swiss location in Hinwil. Belimo AG, which has regional roots, is the world market leader in the development, manufacture and sale of field devices for the energy-efficient control of heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems.
With its 6,200 square metres of production space, the new building significantly complements the existing production capacities. A skeleton of reinforced concrete ceilings and prefabricated reinforced concrete and composite columns forms the load-bearing structure of the industrial building. Above the larger façade openings on the ground floor, the building loads are absorbed by an interception beam in steel-concrete composite construction along the façade. A fully automated storage system will ensure the efficient flow of materials in the future. The shell of the building, in which the high-bay warehouse will be installed, gives an idea of the remarkable dimensions of the system. Furthermore, a passerelle for the movement of people and goods will connect the new building with the existing main building.
