… this is how the moderator of the final run illustrated the extraordinary dimension of the SOLA relay, which was held for the 50th time yesterday. More than 14,000 runners laced up their sports shoes to take on the stages between Felsenegg, Irchel and Egg near Zürich for the anniversary event. The relay team from LÜCHINGER MEYER PARTNER was one of the 1,106 teams in the starting field. Despite our captain’s bad luck with injury, our team’s 28 nimble legs ran to a strong 255th place. We completed the entire course in a speedy 9:33 hours.
For the first time, we managed to form a “pure LMP” relay team without any external support. A representative cross-section of our office team tackled the 14 stages: structural planners and facadiers, representatives from Zurich and Lucerne, interns, engineers, designers, project managers and the management team were all at the start together.
The sense of community also characterized the SOLA post-game. Equipped with a barbecue, drinks, „Kartotäuern“ , a mobile salad bar and cake, we ended the evening in Irchelpark, as did many other runners.
Once again, the ASVZ and its many helpers deserve a big thank you for the exemplary organization and execution of this special sports festival!
