The residential complex at Talwiesenstrasse 17-23 is located at the foot of the Üetliberg, directly next to the Üetliberg railway tracks. Each building has six floors above ground. The four buildings are connected by a shared basement, and two of each are identical from the ground floor upwards. In addition to technical rooms, cellars and air-raid shelters, the basement also houses a shared parking garage, which can be accessed via a ramp on the eastern side of the property. The above-ground floors are exclusively residential.
The building is constructed using solid construction methods. The basement is constructed entirely from concrete. On the upper floors, the slabs rest on the masonry façade walls, the concrete core and apartment partition walls, and other load-bearing masonry walls. The loads from the four buildings are transferred via a transfer slab above the basement to the supporting elements below.
The solid element façades and the stairwells in exposed concrete are architecturally striking, giving the ensemble a clear, robust appearance.
