One more time …

… we’re gonna celebrate. We are absolutely delighted. For the second time, the Herostrasse 5 façade restoration project in Zurich has won an international sustainability award. On the sidelines of this year’s glasstec trade fair, Philippe Willareth (LÜCHINGER MEYER PARTNER) and Enrico Cutri (Dow Europe) accepted the CircuClarity Award 2026. The award recognises projects that significantly advance the circular economy in the glass and façade sectors. Our project was selected as the winner in the ‘Remanufacture’ category.
Congratulations to the other award winners!

Intensive interdisciplinary collaboration laid the foundations for achieving the renovation project’s ambitious sustainability goals. In addition to the pragmatic removal of contaminants, the reuse of the parapet structures and the generally low-tech nature of the new façade, the reuse of the existing glass elements was particularly impressive. In an innovative process in the spirit of applied research, the façade engineers at LÜCHINGER MEYER PARTNER, in collaboration with project partners Dow, GYSO, Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, and Icomet, developed a bespoke, pioneering remanufacturing solution for this purpose.
